The first thing I did when I got to Seattle for the 2017 @ancestralhealth symposium was a float tank session at @floatingstl and the last thing I did was another float session at @urbanfloat. โ€ข Both facilities were awesome (the first pic is from Urban Float and the additional pics are from Float Seattle) and having these two mindful "bookends" helped make this year's AHS an especially memorable trip. โ€ข Like any mindfulness practice, the benefits of floating accrue over time, but even a single session in a floatation/sensory deprivation tank can be transformative. โ€ข The paradox of our modern day "connected" society is that we have become utterly disconnected from our own self. โ€ข What floating allows you to do is to put away the phone, silence the noise, turn off the lights, and then turn your attention within. โ€ข You soon find yourself face to face with being, breathing, and the present moment. โ€ข Then you get to stay there for an hour because you literally have nothing else to do! โ€ข This is where "the work" come in and where the healing emanates from. โ€ข Of course, all of these benefits are available from other mindfulness practices, but floating is a particularly timely antidote to the ills of modernity. โ€ข It is a prime example of a technology that negates technology and one that provides us an opportunity to remember what it means to be human. โ€ขโ€ขโ€ข #tonyfedfitness #floating #floatseattle #urbanfloat #wiseape #beherebenow
